Toxic Metals

Toxic Metals

Acute metal poisoning is rare. More common, however, is a chronic, low-level exposure to toxic metals that can result in significant retention in the body that can be associated with a vast array of adverse health effects and chronic disease. We are constantly exposed to a barrage of heavy metals (mercury, aluminum, lead, etc) through our food, water, air, vaccines and work/home environments. Once in our bodies, they can cause significant imbalances and insults which can lead to acute as well as chronic health issues like:

  • Fatigue
  • Gastrointestinal Symptoms
  • Hypertension
  • Cardiovascular Disease
  • Depression
  • Immune System Dysfunction
  • Inflammation
  • Thyroid dysfunction
  • Nutritional Deficiencies
  • Parkinson’s-like Symptoms
  • Kidney dysfunction
  • Impaired Glucose Tolerance
  • Alopecia (hair loss)
  • Low Bone Density (osteopenia, osteoporosis)
  • Dermatitis or Poor Wound Healing
  • Toxicity

Cuccia Health Institute utilizes an oral chelation challenge (provocation) to ascertain if the body is accumulating 20 of the most common toxic metals. It is important to perform both pre- and post-provocation urinalysis to permit distinction between ongoing exposures to metals (pre-) and net bodily retention. Analysis of the levels of toxic metals in urine after the administration of a metal detoxification agent is an objective way to evaluate the accumulation of toxic metals. If present, we then implement an oral chelation protocol to safely and gently remove these toxins from your system.
